How it all started...
Refuge Community Church opened its doors in Pastor Don and Miss Dawn’s home in 2017. But the story begins almost three decades earlier with Pastor Don growing up in Cleveland in the 1980s. It was then that Don watched bussing come and steel mills leave. Moreover, he watched his neighborhood become vacated houses and people leaving for the suburbs with their resources. He too tried to leave, but that all changed when the Lord called him and his family to start reaching people in that very same neighborhood.

Expanding the vision...
Since coming to Old Brooklyn, Refuge has distributed food, held addiction meetings, hosted meals, and witnessed changed lives in the people of this neighborhood. The goal of Refuge is to meet people where they are, to share the love of Christ, and to disciple them to go out and reach others. We all deeply appreciate all that the Lord is doing and will continue to do. More so, we want to
invite you to be a part of it as well.
